Movement

The body, built.

Movement here is not a class you attend. It is a practice you keep — held one-to-one by appointment, or alongside me on the schedule at Sweat. Slow, precise, calibrated to the body in front of me and the life around it.

What Movement Means Here

Movement that meets the body where it is—and helps build what comes next.

A woman’s body is not static. It changes through pregnancy, postpartum recovery, shifting hormones, perimenopause, menopause, postmenopause, injury, stress, and the natural process of aging. Each season asks for a different kind of support.

Kate creates highly personalized movement sessions informed by Pilates, strength, mobility, functional movement, and nervous-system awareness. Her approach is somatically informed—paying attention not only to how the body moves, but also to how it feels, responds, and communicates. Sessions may incorporate breath, grounding, body awareness, and intentional movement to help women build strength while developing a greater sense of connection, confidence, and safety within their bodies.

When appropriate, movement programming can also be shaped by insights from DEXA scans, bloodwork, hormone panels, and other health assessments completed and interpreted by a client’s physician, nurse practitioner, or qualified healthcare provider. Kate works within her scope as a movement and wellness practitioner, translating professional medical guidance into thoughtful, sustainable movement practices.

Whether a woman is preparing for birth, rebuilding postpartum, navigating hormonal change, protecting bone and muscle, returning from injury, or building strength for the decades ahead, the work begins with listening. No two bodies—and no two seasons—require exactly the same practice.

The Modalities

What informs the work.

No single method. These are the disciplines Kate draws from, blended differently for every body in front of her.

Pilates

Reformer and mat — precision, control, and length as the spine of the work.

Strength

Progressive loading for muscle, bone density, and the capacity to carry a life.

Mobility

Joint function, balance, and posture — range you can actually use.

Functional Movement

Patterns drawn from how you live: lifting, reaching, rising, walking.

Breath & Nervous System

Somatically informed work — grounding, body awareness, and regulation.

Nutrition Science

Certified guidance for the years around and after menopause — protein, metabolism, recovery, energy.

Through Every Season

Strength, mobility, longevity, recovery, and the nervous system—held together.

Areas of focus may include:

  • ◦Prenatal movement and strength
  • ◦Postnatal recovery and rebuilding
  • ◦Perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause support
  • ◦Strength, muscle development, and bone-health practices
  • ◦Mobility, balance, posture, and joint function
  • ◦Core and pelvic-floor–supportive movement
  • ◦Nervous-system regulation and somatically informed movement
  • ◦Movement informed by physician- or practitioner-interpreted health assessments
  • ◦Sustainable practices for longevity and everyday life

What the work includes

Five doors, one house.

Each format is a different door into the same practice. Most women who stay move between two or three of them over a year.

01

Private Mentorship

One-to-one work — the most honest version of the practice. Strength, mobility, breath, pacing, recovery. The body read closely and answered precisely, each session.

02

Prenatal / Postnatal Private Mentorship

One-to-one work through pregnancy and the long recovery after it — pelvic floor, core, breath, strength, and pacing. Built around the birth you are preparing for, or the one you are rebuilding from, with no rush to be anywhere yet.

03

Duet Sessions

You and one other — a partner, a sister, a friend. The intimacy of the private, kept in the company of someone you trust.

04

Group Classes at Sweat

Ongoing reformer classes on the Sweat schedule in Santa Monica and Mar Vista. A warm, capable room of individuals moving together.

05

Nutrition Science

Certified guidance for the years around and after menopause — protein, metabolism, recovery, energy. Built around how you actually live and eat.

Movement becomes Practice

Movement is not one method or a single hour.

Practice is how the work becomes personal, consistent, and responsive to the life you are living.
